KENNEWICK, Wash. (AP) - Many drivers who are pulled over by a police officer know they will be asked for their license and registration.

Don’t be too eager to reach for them. Wait until you are asked.

Kennewick Office Keith Noble tells KEPR (https://bit.ly/1l021Tq ) when officers see drivers reaching for their wallet or glove box, they don’t know if they’re trying to hide something or grab a weapon.

Noble says if you’re stopped by an officer, pull over in a safe area and wait with your hands on the steering wheel until the officer asks for your license and registration.
