TOLLESON, Ariz. (AP) - Tolleson police responding to a report of prowler ended up finding a half-ton of marijuana in a house.

According to The Arizona Republic (https://bit.ly/1gkP0pB ), an officer arriving at the residential area early Tuesday morning saw a man crouching near a parked car and then noticed a strong smell of marijuana.

Police say the man ran off as the officer approached him and that several people then ran out of the home.

Sgt. Obed Gaytan said police obtained a search warrant for the house where they then found the 1,000 pounds of marijuana.

Two people were taken into custody and booked into jail on suspicion of marijuana charges.
