BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (AP) - City officials in Bloomington are working to fix a pair of sinkholes that have closed a pair of streets.

Kevin Kothe (KOH’-thee) is the city engineer in Bloomington. He told The Pantagraph (https://bit.ly/N6C9ff ) that the first sinkhole opened up Monday when a car wheel sunk through the pavement. That opened up a hole several feet deep.

Then on Tuesday two wheels on a heavy truck pushed through the pavement into another hole. A tow truck had to be called in to pull the stuck truck out.

Kothe says both holes are being repaired and streets where they’re located are closed.
