BEND, Ore. (AP) - A 5.5-mile asphalt path linking Sunriver and the Lava Lands Visitor Center is under construction near Bend.

Deschutes National Forest spokeswoman Jean Nelson-Dean says a project goal is to provide more ways to get to the Newberry National Volcanic Monument.
