POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) - The Pocatello Police Department in eastern Idaho has relaunched its Citizen Police Academy after eight years.

Spokeswoman Dianne Brush tells KIFI-TV (https://bit.ly/1g01GCT) in a story on Tuesday that 10 volunteers have already signed up.

Brush says volunteers at the police department save the city more than $250,000 every year.

She says the department expects to accept about 25 or 30 volunteers this year.

The academy is planned every Tuesday night starting April 22 and is free for those who are accepted.
