NEW YORK (AP) - Michael Sisak, a multi-format journalist for The Citizens’ Voice in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., has been hired by The Associated Press as a general news reporter in New York City.

Sisak has spent the last year as The Citizens’ Voice city/investigations editor and before that was a senior writer for five years. He covered the Penn State abuse case, the Jerry Sandusky trial, and broke news that Joe Paterno was near death and his wife was summoning friends and family for a final goodbye. He also led an investigative series on deadly working conditions for guards in federal prisons.

Sisak is also a photographer and has worked as a television correspondent and analyst at stations in Pennsylvania.

A native of New York’s Long Island, Sisak is a 2007 graduate of Hofstra University.
