DETROIT (AP) - A Wayne State University professor is scheduled to give a talk on outer space as part of the Detroit school’s speaker series.

Physics and astronomy professor Claude Pruneau’s talk is entitled, “Perils from space! How the dinosaurs disappeared and so could we … and what we can do about it.”

As part of the Knowledge on Tap series, one of Wayne State’s faculty members gives an informal presentation on a topic of choice. That’s followed by a conversation with audience members.

The events are held every other month at various Midtown restaurants and bars.

Pruneau’s presentation is set for Thursday at Traffic Jam and Snug.

Upcoming topics include medical breakthroughs, art, poetry and urban archaeology.

Knowledge on Tap events are free and open to the public.
