DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) - Dickinson State University men’s basketball coach Ty Orton is resigning to take a fundraising position.

Orton will step down on May 15 after seven seasons to become associate director of fundraising for the DSU Alumni and Foundation.

Orton compiled an 89-113 record as coach of the Blue Hawks. Before coming to DSU he was the head coach at McCook Community College in Nebraska for five seasons and an assistant at Otero Junior College in Colorado for four seasons.

Dickinson State hopes to name a new coach within a few months.
