PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - The operator of a ferry that would connect Maine to Nova Scotia is listing ticket prices after receiving initial permission to conduct business this spring.

Nova Star Cruises Ltd. says one-way tickets will range in price from $79 to $139 for adults and $39 to $64 children, depending on the season. Children under the age of 5 travel for free.

Trips between Portland and Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, are scheduled to begin May 15. However the company still needs to show proof of liability coverage before it can begin service.

The ferry service received permission to sell tickets last week after it demonstrated to the U.S. Federal Maritime Commission it could refund customers for cancelled trips.
