TULSA, Okla. (AP) - The Tulsa 66ers plan to wear special uniforms during Saturday’s home game against the Austin Toros to benefit the Muscogee (Creek) Nation’s Higher Education Scholarship Foundation Program.

The 66ers, part of the NBA Development League that is affiliated with the Oklahoma City Thunder, will wear customized jerseys featuring the seal of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation and the tribe’s Department of Health logo.

The uniforms will be auctioned and raffled off to fans, with the proceeds going to the scholarship program and providing financial aid to qualified tribe members pursuing college degrees.

The program is a nonprofit group created by the Muscogee (Creek) Nation National Council. It works to provide futures for tribal citizens through academic scholarship, community initiatives and research benefiting the growth and prosperity of tribal communities.
