NEW YORK (AP) - About 700 people will race up 72 floors at 4 World Trade Center next week.

The event Thursday is called the “Runyon Up.” It’s organized by the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation.

A climber from Long Island, John Theissen, tells The New York Times (https://nyti.ms/1eZoWAc ) that he expects to reach the top of the glass-paneled skyscraper in about 10 minutes.

The sanctioned activity follows a spate of negative publicity involving thrill-seekers at the site.

On Monday, four men were arrested over a September skydive off the unfinished 1 World Trade Center tower. A teenage boy was accused of scaling it earlier this month.
