DEARBORN, Mich. (AP) - Actor and activist Edward James Olmos will be the keynote speaker at a diversity conference in the Detroit suburb of Dearborn.
Olmos joins a slate of actors, authors, musicians, academics and civil rights leaders April 10 for the 11th annual Images and Perceptions Diversity Conference. The title of the daylong conference at Byblos Banquets is “Embracing Diversity, Empowering Communities.”
Olmos has appeared in numerous films and television shows, including “Stand and Deliver,” ”Selena,” ”The West Wing” and “American Family: Journey of Dreams.”
Conference collaborators include the Radius of Arab American Writers and the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
