JOPLIN, Mo. (AP) - A coast-to-coast relay aimed at raising money for Boston Marathon bombing victims is headed to southwest Missouri.

The One Run for Boston, which kicked off March 16, is a nonstop running relay spanning more than 3,000 miles from Los Angeles to Boston. It’s divided into 336 stages across 14 states. The goal is to raise $1 million goal to benefit victims of last year’s Boston Marathon bombing. Almost $300,000 has been collected so far.

The Joplin Globe reports (https://bit.ly/1mknolM ) the relay hits southwest Missouri on Monday. Joplin runner Shaun Steele will run 25 miles. He’s raised more than $3,100 and hopes to hit $4,000.

Steele says there was an outpouring of support from all over the world after the 2011 Joplin tornado, and he wants to pay that forward.
