MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Montgomery Ballet officials are cleaning up from an act of vandalism over the weekend and say they hope to be open for business on Monday.

Office manager Sarah-Ellen Thompson tells the Montgomery Advertiser (https://on.mgmadv.com/1i46yVB ) she thinks her studio was targeted between Friday evening and Saturday morning.

The newspaper reports that pieces of concrete and rocks were thrown through the building’s windows. The impact of one of the objects broke a mirror and fabric that were part of a stage design.

Montgomery Ballet officials canceled weekend classes while they cleaned up the broken glass. Thompson says dancers use the entire floor area and members need to be sure the floor is safe before classes can resume.
