FORT MORGAN, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say they’re expecting to resume their search for a man who fell from a south Alabama pier while he was fishing.

Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Maj. Anthony Lowery tells AL.com (https://bit.ly/1oevbGn ) 26-year-old Hubert “B.J.” Johnson of Foley likely drowned after falling from a Fort Morgan pier on Friday while he was fishing with two other men.

Johnson’s cousin, Willie Watts, says Johnson didn’t know how to swim and began to panic after falling into the water. Watts says he threw a net out to try reeling his cousin back in but Johnson eventually went under.

Authorities from several agencies have joined the search for Johnson’s body, but the effort was put on hold Friday because of hazardous weather conditions.
