Apple and Samsung, accusing each other once again of ripping off smartphone designs and features, head back to court in Silicon Valley.

3. SWEPT AWAY

Search suspended on Santa Barbra County coast for man swept away by wave during baptism ceremony at near Guadalupe.

4. HISTORIC LODGE FIRE

1860s-era Wilbur Hot Springs lodge in Colusa County destroyed by fire, displacing 60 people.

5. SIERRA SNOW

Storms giving a much-needed boost to a dismal Sierra Nevada snowpack just before the traditional peak of the snow season.
