MESA, Ariz. (AP) - One lane of a major road in Mesa is open after a ruptured gas line closed the street for hours.

The gas line break was discovered early Monday afternoon and forced the closure of Mesa Drive between Broadway Road and Southern Avenue.

Mesa Fire Department personnel still are on the scene working with city crews to repair the line.

Authorities say there’s no immediate estimate for when the road will re-open completely.

Until repairs are complete, motorists are advised to use alternative routes as the closure could impact the Monday evening commute.
