GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) - The Mesa County Commission is planning to assert control over roads and rights of way in a potential confrontation with the federal Bureau of Land Management.

The BLM is studying proposed changes to the Grand Junction office’s resource management plan, including transportation on more than 1 million acres it manages in Mesa County and in some adjoining counties.

According to the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel (https://tinyurl.com/lazuoxl ), a county resolution calls on Congress to develop legislation to improve procedures for respecting rights-of-way and road access.
