COATESVILLE, Pa. (AP) - A man from southeastern Pennsylvania trying to shoot a rat ended up in the hospital after accidentally shooting himself instead.

WFMZ-TV (https://bit.ly/1mFuUur) said Monday that 27-year-old Zachary Troop of West Fallowfield Township, Chester County, was accidentally hit by a .22 caliber bullet in his upper leg on March 20.

Police said he was trying to shoot a rat when he shot himself instead.

He was taken to a hospital for treatment. Information on his condition wasn’t immediately available.
