AZUSA, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say a 19-year-old man wanted on a narcotics warrant died after jumping through a window while trying to evade police in Azusa.

Los Angeles County sheriff’s Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez tells City News Service that Alec Deon Torres fled when officers arrived to arrest him at a condominium complex Sunday afternoon. He ran from roof to roof and dove through the second story window of a condo unit.

Azusa’s SWAT team was called to the scene after several unsuccessful attempts to make contact with Torres.

When SWAT officers entered the unit they found the man dead from cuts apparently sustained in his leap through the window.
