HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) - A donor has withdrawn an offer to help a Huntington facility that provides lodging for families of hospital patients.

Jeffrey Gordon Comfort House volunteer executive director Jo Fannin had announced Feb. 25 that an anonymous donor offered to assume the facility’s $545,000 mortgage.

Fannin tells The Herald-Dispatch (https://bit.ly/1g79G0u ) that the offer has since been rescinded.

The offer’s withdrawal leaves the facility with an uncertain future. Its former board chairman had announced on Feb. 15 that it would close because the bank was calling the mortgage.

Fannin says the facility has launched a fundraising campaign.
