CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Officials with the state Alcohol Beverage Control Commission have suspended the license of a Charlotte hotel where two people were wounded in a shooting after the recent CIAA basketball tournament.

The suspension letter was delivered on Monday to the officers for Carolina Hospitality Group 2010, the company that operates the Sheraton Hotel.

Commission spokeswoman Agnes Stevens said the Sheraton applied for the license after switching owners. A temporary license was granted, which is routine as the commission and law enforcement agents investigate the business.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say two people were shot in the leg early Sunday at the party, which featured rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs. The event wasn’t affiliated with the tourney.

The letter also alleges “one person was cut after being assaulted by another person with a champagne bottle.”
