PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (AP) - Police say a New Hampshire man has been accused of posing as a firefighter and refusing to get off the roof of a burning building in Portsmouth.

Dean Ellis of Rochester has been charged with disorderly conduct. Police said that in June, the 29-year-old Ellis created a distraction at a fire at the F.A. Gray building. Investigators said posed as a fire official and even called for a second alarm while standing on the roof without any protective gear. He didn’t move when firefighters put up a ladder to come down.

Firefighters also noticed a gun in Ellis‘ waistband. Police said he didn’t have a permit for the gun.
