TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - One man was killed and three other people were wounded during a shooting at an illegal nightclub in Trenton.

It’s not yet clear what sparked the shooting, which occurred shortly before 5 a.m. Saturday on Martin Luther King Boulevard.

Mercer County prosecutors said a 43-year-old city man who lived above the nightclub was shot in the head and died about five hours later, while a 30-year old city man shot in the heart, lung and lower extremities was hospitalized in critical condition.

Two other victims - a 23-year-old woman shot in the right shoulder and a 30-year-old man shot in the ankle - were in stable condition.

Besides the shooting victims, two city women trying to flee the building suffered burns when grease spilled from a deep fryer.
