LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - The $30 million renovation of the Arena-Auditorium at the University of Wyoming officially begins on Monday.

The Arena will be closed during the construction process, which will run into next fall.

The project is the largest fundraising effort for Wyoming basketball in school history.

The first phase of the project will see new locker rooms, fan seating and video boards.

The court area will be re-oriented 35 degrees and expanded to provide the Cowboys and Cowgirls with additional practice space.

The first phase will be completed before the start of the 2014-15 men’s and women’s basketball seasons.

The second phase will focus on new fan areas on the concourse level, a new ticket office and improved concession and rest room areas.
