HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - Hattiesburg Chief Financial Officer Connie Everett will step down from her position effective June 30th.

Everett tells WDAM TV (https://bit.ly/1fAZeEH ) she has verbally told Mayor Johnny DuPree that she is retiring. Everett has served as the Chief Financial Adviser for the mayor and city council for a number of years.

For the last several months, she served as city clerk since Eddie Myers retired.

Everett gave no reason for stepping down except to say she has 31 years in the retirement system to retire.
