HOBBS, N.M. (AP) - The Lea County Regional Airport may soon get relief for its often overcrowded terminal.

The Hobbs News-Sun reports (https://goo.gl/AZXQPP) that commissioners last week discussed possible interim changes for the airport.

Lea County Public Works director Corey Needham says under proposed changed luggage area would increase from 80-square-feet to 390- square-feet and the car rental and waiting area would increase from 198-square-feet to 512-square feet.

Needham says there are no restrooms in the secured area where passengers wait until boarding flights.

The changes could come by the end of the year.
