FARGO, N.D. (AP) - A Fargo man accused of having more than 3,400 images and 175 videos depicting child pornography has been sentenced to 9 ½ years in prison.

U.S. Attorney Timothy Purdon on Wednesday announced the sentence against 28-year-old Jared Allen. A federal judge also ordered Allen to spend 10 years on supervised release and pay $1,000 in restitution.

Allen earlier pleaded guilty to receipt of materials involving the sexual exploitation of minors and possession of materials involving the sexual exploitation of minors.

Purdon’s office says federal investigators located Allen’s apartment after they tracked down a computer that was sharing child pornography in a peer-to-peer network.

Investigators found the images and videos in two computers that were seized from Allen’s apartment.
