OXFORD, Miss. (AP) - Oxford police say Kathryn Mitchell has been charged with felony embezzlement after her employer signed an affidavit alleging thefts of cash and merchandise.

Mitchell, of Oxford, was arrested Wednesday. She is being held on $5,000 bond.

Police say her arrest came after an investigation into stolen merchandise and funds from the Lily Pad. Police say Lily Pad officials told investigators more than $500 worth of goods had been taken from the store.

Store owners signed an affidavit against Mitchell for embezzlement Monday.
