OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Gov. Mary Fallin has named Thomas “Pete” Churchwell of Grove to the Grand River Dam Authority’s board of directors.

Churchwell will succeed Betty Kerns, who resigned from the board, and will serve the remainder of her unexpired term through August 2015.

Churchwell is retired from the Public Service Co. of Oklahoma, a unit of American Electric Power, where he served as president and chief operations officer.

Churchwell has served in a variety of roles, including executive vice president for West Texas Utilities in Abilene, Texas, vice president of corporate services for Central and South West Services in Dallas, general manager of Central Power and Light Co. in Corpus Christi, Texas, and vice president of corporate service for PSO in Tulsa.

He currently serves on the Grand Lake Watershed Alliance Foundation.
