ST. LOUIS (AP) - Demolition of the old Forest Park Hospital in midtown St. Louis is nearly complete, clearing the way for work on a planned expansion of the St. Louis Zoo.

KTVI-TV (https://bit.ly/1jB7LXv ) reports the project will eventually include a hotel, zoo-themed restaurant and expanded animal habitats. There are also plans for a gondola over Interstate 64 connecting the new zoo grounds with the existing property.

Demolition of the former hospital has been ongoing for several weeks.
