BETHEL, Alaska (AP) - Authorities in Bethel are investigating what caused a fire that leveled the town’s new $12.5 million alcohol treatment center.

KYUK (https://bit.ly/1qhl5kt) reports assistant state fire marshal Lloyd Nakano says there were no reports of fatalities or injuries after Monday’s fire. Officials also thoroughly searched the facility.

The center was being enclosed for the winter.

Nakano wouldn’t say what sort of tools, heaters or equipment was present that might have caused the fire. Investigators haven’t ruled out the possibility of arson, but won’t say whether they believe the blaze was intentionally set.

Two investigators from the state fire marshal’s office completed their on-site investigation. Nakano says they may conduct follow-up interviews.
