ALBANY, Ga. (AP) - Albany police are investigating after firefighters found a dead body inside a burning apartment.

WALB-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1yNzLx0 ) firefighters were called to a fire at the Clark Avenue apartment at about 4:20 a.m. Saturday. The body of a man was discovered inside.

Authorities said the apartment had a red tag, meaning it was supposed to be vacant. It had no working electricity.

Police were called to the scene. Investigators said Saturday they were still working to confirm the dead man’s identity.
