MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) - Authorities in California are asking Muskogee residents for help in finding the family of a man who recently died in Turlock, California.

Detective Adam Rodriguez with the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department told the Muskogee Phoenix (https://bit.ly/1woahHb ) that 63-year-old Glenn Gorton was a transient who died of natural causes.

Rodriguez says it is thought Gorton may have family in the area because of a previous criminal conviction in Muskogee County.

Oklahoma Department of Corrections records show Gorton was convicted in 1995 of lewd molestation and making a lewd and indecent proposal and that he was released from custody in April 2010.

Rodriguez said Gorton had no arrest records in California.
