EVANSDALE, Iowa (AP) - Authorities say an Evansdale man was hit with a stun gun and arrested following a fire at his home.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports (https://bit.ly/1wSxyzU ) that firefighters were called to the house for a fire Thursday night.

Authorities say the 33-year-old owner was agitated and couldn’t be calmed at the scene, and police eventually used a stun gun to subdue him.

Fire Chief Kent Smock says the man was arrested on suspicion of interfering with official acts and a pair of probation violation warrants.

The American Red Cross was called in to help an adult and at least three children. No injuries were reported in the blaze.

Investigators are still looking into the cause of the fire.
