SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Authorities say a Saratoga Springs woman whose son was shot killed by police confronted officers during an unrelated traffic stop earlier this month.

A spokesman for the city says Susan Hunt pulled up behind two officers Oct. 19, walked up to them and started yelling at them. City spokesman Owen Jackson says Hunt struck one of the officers.

The Daily Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1G3LT1w) the Utah County Attorney’s Office is investigating and charges could be filed.

Her son is 22-year-old Darrien Hunt, who was killed Sept. 10 while he was dressed as a Japanese anime character and armed with a sword. Police say he was aggressive but his family says race was a factor. The county attorney is expected to announce the results of its investigation into the shooting next week.
