BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - A 19-year-old man could spend the rest of his life in prison after pleading guilty to murdering a man and setting fire to the victim’s home.

Erie County District Attorney Frank Sedita says David Meyers of Buffalo has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and arson in state Supreme Court.

Prosecutors say he fatally bludgeoned Brian Domek inside Domek’s Buffalo home in March and then set the house on fire to cover up the slaying. The victim’s dog died in the fire.

Authorities have declined to comment on a motive for the attack.

Meyers will be sentenced Dec. 2. He faces at least 15 years in prison and a maximum sentence of life.
