DAVIS, Calif. (AP) - Sean Rubalcaba threw two touchdown passes and ran for another and Northern Colorado beat UC Davis 27-21 on Saturday.

Northern Colorado (3-6, 2-4 Big Sky) led 7-0 on Rubalcaba’s 23-yard touchdown pass to Stephen Miller, which came after a 12-play, 86-yard drive in the second quarter. Rubalcaba’s 8-yard touchdown pass to Sean Leslie, his 8-yard TD run and Seth Czapenski’s 26-yard field goal put the Bears up 24-7 early in the fourth.

Rubalcaba finished 21 of 28 for 278 yards and 74 yards rushing.

Ben Scott’s 18-yard TD pass to Ramos Vargas - his second TD of the game - and Gabe Manzanares’ 1-yard plunge cut the Aggies’ deficit to 24-21 with 5:10 left.

On the Aggies next possession, Manzanares fumbled, then Czapenski kicked a 30-yard field goal. UC Davis got one more possession, but Scott was picked off in the end zone by Trevor Douglass to end the game.
