BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) - President Barack Obama is appearing at a late campaign event to boost support for Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy, who is in a close re-election race.

The Democratic president was scheduled to headline a rally at Central High School in Bridgeport for Malloy and the Connecticut Demo on Sunday.

Obama had originally planned to appear in Bridgeport for an Oct. 15 rally but abruptly canceled his plans in order to convene a meeting of his Cabinet about the federal government’s response to Ebola. First lady Michelle Obama campaigned in New Haven with Malloy last Thursday.

Earlier on Sunday, both Malloy and Foley were expected to appear in their final television forum, sponsored by WTNH-TV. The hour-long match-up was scheduled to air live, starting at 8 a.m.
