BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) - Ohio’s crime investigation agency is opening a new crime lab on the campus of a university in northwestern Ohio.

The Bureau of Criminal Investigations plans to open the state-of-the-art lab on Monday afternoon on the campus of Bowling Green State University.

The $12 million facility will have modern chemistry labs and equipment, an evidence receiving area and a shooting range.

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine is expected to join Bowling Green President Mary Ellen Mazey at an opening ceremony, followed by an open house.

University officials say putting the new lab on Bowling Green’s campus will allow students to gain more experience and observe and learn from its scientists.
