Oklahoma man faces kidnapping, rape charges

ARDMORE, Okla. (AP) - Ardmore police have arrested a man who they say kidnapped and raped a 7-year-old girl.

Authorities on Sunday canceled an Amber Alert that was issued after witnesses saw the girl forced into a vehicle on Saturday afternoon. Police say they found the girl inside the 34-year-old suspect’s home on Sunday morning after receiving an anonymous tip.

The man was arrested on kidnapping and first-degree rape complaints. Police say he doesn’t have a criminal record and isn’t on the sex offender registry.

The victim was taken to an Ardmore hospital and has been released to her mother.
