EDGEWOOD, Md. (AP) - The Harford County Sheriff’s Office has identified two of the three women stabbed in their Edgewood apartment.
Deputies said Monday that 15-year-old Melay Hernandez died at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, where she was taken after Saturday night’s stabbing. Police say her mother, 39-year-old Maria Hernandez, was injured.
Deputies had said Sunday that the second surviving victim was Melay’s twin sister, but a spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office refused to identify her on Monday.
Twenty-one-year-old Ivan Bustamante of Bel Air has been charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder and assault in the crimes.
Deputies have not identified a motive in the stabbings.
