MAPLEWOOD, N.J. (AP) - A lockdown at a northern new Jersey high school has ended with one student being arrested.
Maplewood Police Chief Robert Cimino says the lockdown was ordered as a precaution shortly before 1 p.m. Monday, after staffers at Columbia High School reported that someone there possibly had a weapon.
A room-by-room search was conducted, and one student was charged with possession of brass knuckles. But further details were not immediately disclosed.
The lockdown lasted for about two hours.
