Student rescued after getting stuck in cave

GOLDEN, Colo. (AP) - A student who got stuck while exploring a cave with friends in Clear Creek Canyon has been rescued.

The student attends Colorado School of Mines. Officials say the incident on Sunday did not happen during a school-sponsored event.

The student was with 11 others exploring an old mine when it happened. He got stuck on the way out but wasn’t hurt.

Rescue crews had to secure the cave before pulling the student to safety.
