INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - The Indianapolis Fire Department says six customers and six employees escaped injury after an SUV crashed into a restaurant.
Capt. Rita Reith (ryt) says 83-year-old Margaret Norris was pulling into a parking space outside a White Castle on the city’s far east side when her vehicle plowed into a load-bearing wall Tuesday afternoon. Reith says the woman may have pressed down on the vehicle’s gas pedal instead of the brakes.
Neither Norris nor a passenger in the vehicle was injured. The vehicle belongs to Norris’ grandson.
Reith says it wasn’t clear how long the restaurant would remain closed.
