GREENSBORO, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say a man was killed when the truck he was driving hit a deer, veered from the road and overturned.

Alabama Department of Public Safety Sgt. Steve Jarrett says 59-year-old Willie Jackson of Marion died in the crash Monday about three miles east of Greensboro on Alabama 14.

Jarrett says Jackson wasn’t wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and the accident is under investigation.

Authorities say drivers should look out for deer at sunrise and sunset and be prepared to abruptly slow down, brake or turn down their headlights. Officials say drivers should slow down when they see a deer and avoid swerving out of their lane to avoid them.
