BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Firefighters say a fire apparently was intentionally set Thursday morning at a vacant house in Baton Rouge.

WBRZ-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1xlEJTX) the fire at 491 Tuscaloosa Ave. was reported around 4:20 a.m.

Firefighters say the house was engulfed in flames and the fire was in danger of spreading to nearby structures when they arrived.

The fire was under control in about half an hour.

The house was declared a total loss.



An investigation into the cause is continuing.
