MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) - Police in the New Hampshire city of Manchester say they have arrested 23 people in a drug sweep.

The investigation involved local and federal agencies.

Police say the cases involved the purchase of cocaine, heroin, crack-cocaine and various other prescription drugs from 31 people and more arrests are expected.

Manchester Police Chief David J. Mara said Thursday that while some of these individuals may be considered “low level” dealers, their arrest should act as a deterrent to all individuals engaged in illicit drug activity in the city.
