SALEM, Va. (AP) - Police have identified a body found near an Interstate 81 exit ramp in Salem.

Virginia State Police spokesman Sgt. Rob Carpentieri says the body of 43-year-old Scott K. Cahill of Roanoke was identified through fingerprints.

The body was discovered last week by an employee of a state contractor that mows grass along the interstate.

Carpentieri tells media outlets that investigators are awaiting findings from the medical examiner’s office.
