EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - A three-day strike at a hospital in Springfield, Oregon, has ended. But there’s no sign of a new contract at McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center.

The Register-Guard reports (https://is.gd/VKRS7O ) striking workers returned to work as planned on Friday morning.

The strike began Tuesday morning, to protest working conditions and proposed increases to employee health care costs.

The president of Service Employees International Union 49 says they have heard nothing from hospital officials about restarting contract talks. The two sides have been trying to reach an agreement since January.

A statement released by the hospital Friday didn’t mention contract talks.
